September 2006In September 2006 we had our first fellowship dinner. We invited all the members of our church to our home for a special evening dinner. Wince we had some new families visiting, we thought it a good idea. It was, as it turned out, one of the best things we had done for IBFe, to date. The Ruiz family was so impressed and moved that they started telling many of their friends. It wasn’t long before we had a whole slew of new visitors. We also celebrated a record attendance day with 26 people attending. The church received a very generous offering from a family in one of our supporting churches in Florida; it was designated to help offset the cost of rent for an entire year. God is good! The church as a whole sent a big thank-you card to this family. Another blessing to the work was getting a church van. We purchased it for $200.00 from a sister church that was unable to use it (it is very mountainous where this church is). We towed it home and I began work on it right away. The half-van-half-bus was in need of some repairs. The carburetor came in a box, in pieces, and the floor had to be replaced. It took almost three weeks of work, but PRAISE THE LORD we have a faithful bus to run our route, and to carry us, as a group, to meetings. God is good! All the time! Sister Nancy Martinez, a student at the Colegio
Universitario Bautista de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Baptist College)
came to us in September. She is from California, and is a tremendous
blessing to our ministry. |
