“Bless
the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless
the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalms 103:
1,2
We are truly thankful for the Wonderful
God we serve and how He continually blesses us in so many ways.
Praises: During the month of June we had
5 first time visitors; one of our ladies who come faithfully invited some
of her family to come; we are thankful for the outreach of our folks here.
On Saturday June 7th we had our annual Church Picnic at a local park.
We had some fun games lined up; good Christian fellowship; a delicious
lunch and a time in God’s Word.
This month I was able to secure my license to perform wedding ceremonies
as well as make official hospital visits here on the island. We have a
couple in our church that plan to get married this fall so we are making
preparations for this.
On Father’s Day our church gave small gifts to each Father present;
we also had special guests that day, Bro. & Mrs. Nerio Gil, missionaries
to Venezuela. They gave an update on their work there and they sang for
us. Bro. Gil gave our folks a challenge on the importance of godly fathers
in the home. Iglesia Bautista Fe supports them and we appreciate being
a part of their ministry.
On the 17th my wife was able to fly to Dallas, TX to spend a week with
her sister Sheila Morris. Sheila has been given just a few months to live
with the brain cancer that she suffers from. Mary was able to spend a
part of each day with her and together they had some sweet fellowship.
Mary’s sister is saved and is fully prepared to meet her Lord soon.
Schmidt Family News: We have two more grandchildren
on the way: our daughter Heather and her husband Joe and our son Aaron
and his wife Amanda are expecting. Also, our son Aaron Schmidt has surrendered
his life to be a missionary and he and his family will be moving up to
Knoxville, TN so that he can finish his studies at Crown College.
I have been under the weather physically for quite some time; but praise
the Lord; I am feeling so much better. Thank you for your prayers.
Thank you to our faithful praying friends
and churches. We have received several emails from you mentioning items
in our prayer letters. This is a great encouragement to us, knowing you
are reading our letters.

1. We need to buy a front wheel bearing hub for our pickup; it costs $200.00
and must be ordered and shipped here.
2. Continue to pray about my knee problem; my doctor says I need surgery
for now, and possibly a total replacement, eventually.
3. Help with this growing ministry.
4. God’s guidance & help concerning our possible furlough in
2009.
5. Those in our discipleship program- for their spiritual growth, knowldge
of God’s word and His perfect will for their lives.

Last month's prayer
letter
June,
2008
Praises:
We had our first meeting with the senior saints; 1 first-time visitor;
1 soul saved.
We give thanks to the Lord for the privilege He gives us to serve Him
and the doors of opportunity that were opened this month for us.
On the first Tuesday of this month we began meeting with the senior saints
of our church; half of our church is of this age group and we had a burden
to minister to them. We had six who attended this first meeting: we had
a time of fun, message from the Pastor and had lunch together. We really
want them to know we love them and they can be valuable asset to the church.
We had a great service for Mother’s Day here; we honored our mother’s
with a small gift. We had a first-time visitor this Mother’s day,
as well. The mother of one of our teen girls came; we were delighted that
she came for the first time. Please pray for Omayra Cruz (2nd from right
in back) we have been witnessing to her for over a year and so far, she
has rejected the Gospel. P-R-A-Y!
On Monday the 12th; we received a call from one our church members, Priscilla
who does Home Health Care. She had been reading the Bible to her patient
and had begun talking about salvation to her. Priscilla called and asked
us to explain the way of salvation to this lady, over the phone; after
a few minutes of reading and explaining the Scriptures this lady accepted
Christ as her Savior! We hope to visit this lady soon and speak with her
more. Praise the Lord for opening this door of opportunity through the
witness of one our members.
Soon Junior and senior camps will be here; Mary and I met with 25 other
people involved in the upcoming camps on the 31st for some classes. This
year I will be the assistant director of the junior camp, and Mary will
be a counselor for the girls. We are looking forward to what God will
do amongst our junior age kids and the teens this year. We have a few
teens in our church that need help getting to camp: if you could help
us in sending them to camp it would be VERY greatly appreciated. The cost
for camp is $100 each. Last year we sponsored one teen girl for camp and
while there she surrendered her life and is now in discipleship class
with my wife.
We received disturbing news earlier this month; my wife’s sister,
Sheila Morris who suffers from brain cancer is not doing well. She has
spent some time in the hospital recently and found that two tumors are
growing in her brain, and both are inoperable. She is currently taking
some more powerful chemo to try and shrink the tumor and buy her a little
time. The doctors have given a time limit on her life between 2-6 months;
without the treatment she is receiving she would die in a matter of weeks.
Please help us pray for:
1. The finances of our church & our support
2. Help with this growing ministry
3. My health and my knee problem
4. The wisdom I need to get this church founded so we can go and start
another.
5. God’s guidance & help concerning our possible furlough in
2009.
6. Those in our discipleship program- for their spiritual growth, knowldge
of God’s word and His perfect will for their lives.
7. Harbor Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC which had a terrible fire last
month which destroyed the auditorium.
Thank you: To all our faithful
supporting churches that sent in extra support last month; we had a need
which God used you to help meet!
